Opera Launches Mobile Browser for Android

Opera Software has released a version of its Mini 5 browser for smartphones running on Google’s Android operating system.

…The Norwegian software company said its new browser improves on the surfing experience for Java phones by compressing data by up to 90 percent before sending content to the handset, speeding up browsing over low-bandwidth data connections.
It also supports new tabs and features a speed dial start screen, thumbnails of most-visited Web sites and a manager that stores passwords for email, social networking sites and online banking.
Opera Mini is the most widely used browser for smartphones, even ahead of Apple’s popular iPhone browser.
